Fiona (nee Roberts) and Richard Hennessy married last week in the tranquil and beautiful setting of Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens. The couple have a unique musical style that influenced the whole day. Fiona wore a treble clef broach on her wedding dress, when she walked through the gardens hand in hand with her father to the sound of the Star Wars theme tune all heads turned! After the ceremony I photographed guests chatting and laughing – capturing informal moments that will later be recalled as anecdotes. Fiona and Richard are fans of reportage style wedding photography but we all concurred that a collective photo in the Bear Pit was a requisite!
The day continued at Richards parents which was filled with merriment and the mellow sound of Jack Johnson playing through the wireless. Guests enjoyed a bouncy castle, bunting, fuse ball, handmade cushions and a marque to defuse the glorious sunlight – not to mention the hog roast which filled the garden with a delightful aroma. I was intuitively drawn to the contemporary wedding cupcake tower, with good reason, it didn’t last long! The familiar setting gave the day an intimate and vibrant feel and it was a pleasure to capture family and friends celebrating in such a relaxed environment.
After documenting for eight hours and taking over 500 images it was exciting selecting the images that would perfectly describe the atmosphere I felt on the day. The full eight hours works well as the story is seamless from start to finish, i’m sure Richard and Fiona will have fun reliving the day and selecting their narritive. As ever it was a delight shooting wedding photography in Sheffield, here are my personal favourites…

I’m still dusting off the camera from Sonisphere 2010. It was great to have the chance to shoot the festival again, like last year I manage to get a photo pass via Thrashhits.com whom published them live at the festival. I was at the media centre untill 12am most nights while i was there, tiring work but extremely fun.
The bands I photographed on day one are as follows Delain, Bizarre Intro, Chickenhawk, Throats, Black Spider, Gary Numan, Sylosis and 65 Days Of Static.

Argument Cottage is situated in Guisborough, a small but lively village in North Yorkshire. It’s an eco friendly 4 star holiday home run by Maria Wilcock. Maria had a new website developed and i was commissioned to capture a set of photographs for the new site. My aim was to capture the unique luxury and comfort the cottage offers and show how it is a home away from home for a wide range of guests. It attracts bikers who enjoy the winding roads to Whitby, people working away from home, cyclists, walkers, couples and families who are kept entertained exploring Guisborough Priory, Saltburn Beach, Staithes, Roseberry Topping, MIMA and shopping in Teesside.
While I was there I had an idea of creating a quirky video about how Maria gets free range eggs for her generous welcome package - I will post this soon.
If your ever in need of accommodation in North Yorkshire I highly recommend Argument Cottage also check out the Argument Cottage Blog.
Additionally, if you own a holiday home and would like some promotional photographs for your business please contact me with your request.
